Only duly appointed contractors are allowed access to the line and adjacent properties

Following the granting of the concession to repair and operate the George/Knysna railway line, the George/Knysna rail reserve and railway properties are now considered private concession land and a private construction site. Legal permission to access this land is required directly from the CEO of Classic Rail at all times – phone Alan McVitty. 082 569 8999

The only personnel allowed access to the property are the duly appointed contractors.

The current situation is that the company has pilot funding to clear the bush and survey the bridges preliminary to preparing a final budget. The parties are processing the “Conditions Precedent” in the concession document to unlock all the concession assets. The project funding has been identified and will flow shortly when the preliminary process is completed.
